Mission Statement

School is there for the students! That is why the children and young people entrusted to us at Tunis German School are always at the center of school education and upbringing. Our understanding of teaching goes far beyond the mere imparting of knowledge and is based on experiencing the world with all the senses according to reform pedagogical principles. School must be a place where learning is fun and which offers students the opportunity to control their own learning process according to their individual possibilities and skills.

As a place of encounter, Tunis German School teaches its students the intercultural skills necessary to meet the complex requirements of a globalized and rapidly changing world in every respect. The social, professional, strategic and personal skills necessary for successful intercultural action in private, school and professional contexts are acquired through independent action and experience in everyday school life and contribute to balanced personal development.

School education can only be successful if everyone involved in school life actively uses the opportunity to help shape it and actively contributes their visions and skills. A trusting and cooperative relationship between the school management, parents, students, teachers and staff creates a family school climate at Tunis German School, which is based on the self-image of meeting the expectations of everyone involved as far as possible. There is only one path for our school family and we will take it together!

Social, religious and cultural values and norms form the basis on which everyone involved in school life collectively defines those values that are considered particularly relevant for constructive and respectful cooperation at Tunis German School. The associated norms should determine the actions of students, teachers and parents. The children and young people entrusted to us experience the effectiveness of their actions based on democratic principles.

At Tunis German School, education means accepting students in their individuality and promoting the optimal development of their abilities, skills and abilities. On this basis, the development of an individual personality is promoted. At the same time, the children and young people entrusted to us are supported in finding their place in society and are encouraged to integrate into it with commitment and self-confidence, but also with the necessary level of respect, tolerance and social competence to make their contribution to serve the community.
