From day one, the kindergarten at Tunis German School Tunis works in accordance with the mission statement and pedagogical concept of the educational institution. Open forms of learning and student orientation are our top priority and place the children entrusted to us at the center of our educational activities and aspiration.

The motto “identify and promote talent at an early stage” is derived from this self-commitment, and the educators are committed to this.

The kindergarten at Tunis German School works with a trilingual approach to ensure the earliest possible and most comprehensive language support. German, Arabic and French are taught at a native speaker level. The educators communicate with the children in their first language. They are trained didactically, pedagogically and linguistically in order to prevent the children from being overwhelmed and at the same time to ensure the best possible language acquisition process. The trilingual concept also ensures that every child has access to a contact person in their familiar language at all times. A particular focus is on German language acquisition. In small groups differentiated according to linguistic level, German, Arabic and French are specifically and playfully promoted as foreign languages.

In special theme rooms, children have the opportunity to follow their individual inclinations and discover new areas of interest. Elaborately prepared and didactically well thought-out materials invite children to try out, experiment, discover, delve deeper and play. The children can deal with the different subject areas in different social constellations: alone, in pairs or in small groups.

Theme-based learning and play spaces cover the following areas of competence and interests:

- language and reading

- technology and natural sciences

- art and creative design

- music and instruments

- handicrafts and construction

In an open area, children have the opportunity to play, run around, be creative and move around. In addition to climbing frames, swings and a sandpit, there is a play kitchen, a construction area, various vehicles and a small water playground (in the summer months).
